L. I. Knights Sports & Athletics Flag Football Program

The L. I. Knights Sports & Athletics Flag Football Program is built for every young athlete who wants to learn the game, compete, and grow in a positive, structured environment. Our program is designed not only for boys, but for girls as well, with dedicated age divisions, coed opportunities, and a clear developmental pathway across the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons.

We believe every athlete deserves a place to play, improve, and feel supported. That commitment drives everything we do.

Why the Knights

Families choose the L. I. Knights because we combine high‑quality coaching, strong communication, and a values‑driven culture that puts players first. Our teams are intentionally kept small to ensure meaningful playing time, real development, and a true team experience. We emphasize fundamentals, confidence, leadership, and sportsmanship, creating an environment where athletes of all backgrounds and skill levels can succeed.

Our coaches are trained to teach the game the right way, build trust with families, and create a positive atmosphere that keeps players excited to return each season. Whether your athlete is brand new to flag football or already competitive, the Knights provide a structured, supportive program that helps them grow.

Age Divisions and Team Opportunities

We are actively forming teams across multiple age groups for both boys and girls. Our program includes:

Girls Flag Football (All‑Girls Teams)

  • Ages 10–11

  • Ages 12–14

  • Ages 14 and up

Boys Flag Football

  • Ages 10–11

  • Ages 12–14

  • Ages 14 and up

Coed Flag Football

  • Ages 10–11

  • Ages 12–14

  • Ages 14 and up

These divisions allow families to choose the environment that best fits their athlete—girls‑only, boys‑only, or coed—while ensuring competitive balance and appropriate development.

Seasonal Structure

The L. I. Knights Flag Football Program operates year‑round across three seasons:

Fall Season

Our largest season of the year. Tryouts and practices begin in mid‑August to prepare for the September start.

Winter Season (Indoors)

A fast‑paced indoor season focused on skill development, speed, and football IQ.

Spring Season

A competitive outdoor season that begins in April and runs through early summer.

We do not run a Summer season, allowing families time to rest, travel, or participate in other sports. However, August marks the start of our Fall preparation cycle.

Tryouts and Practice Locations

Tryouts and practices are typically held in the Centereach/Selden area, providing a central and accessible location for families across Suffolk County.

Sessions are structured, development‑focused, and led by coaches who prioritize safety, learning, and player confidence.
