Meet The Board

Joseph Maggio
President, Director of Operations
With over 25 years of service to the Long Island community, Joseph Maggio is the visionary force behind L. I. Knights Sports & Athletics. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Joseph has carried his commitment to service far beyond his military years. While serving his country, his focus never wavered from the American people — a vow to protect, uplift, and ensure no one is taken advantage of. That same patriotism fuels his mission today: to give back to the community he loves and to build something better for the next generation.

A lifelong advocate for youth sports, Joseph has dedicated his career to creating programs that are affordable, enjoyable, and truly developmental — ensuring families across Suffolk County can give their children real opportunities without financial strain. His belief is simple and unwavering: every child deserves a fair chance, regardless of background or income.
His mission is clear. Joseph is reshaping the landscape of youth athletics by offering structured, values‑driven programming that nurtures both skill and character. Under his leadership, L. I. Knights Sports & Athletics has grown into a multi‑sport organization rooted in honor, hustle, heart, and family — with each league designed to help athletes reach their full potential in the sport they love.

Joseph’s hands‑on approach, creative energy, and deep compassion have made L. I. Knights Sports & Athletics a trusted name in youth development. He believes sports should build leaders, not egos — and every flyer, training plan, and team identity reflects that purpose. Whether launching new programs, refining branding, or mentoring coaches, Joseph leads with humility, pride, and a relentless drive to uplift the next generation.

The Knights were built for one reason: to ensure equality, fairness, love, and respect for the families of Suffolk County — and to provide youth sports that remain financially fair and accessible, unlike programs that treat children as a revenue stream.
Here, every family belongs. Every child gets a chance. And every athlete is valued.
